The natural ressources of human life are under massive threat from the global biodiversity crisis. In order to set a good example and to stop the ongoing loss of biodiversity, the European Union is endeavouring to enact the world's first law on the restoration of nature. Even though the procedure for adopting the planned regulation has not yet been finalised, a further development of the current environmental legal framework is becoming apparent, which is examined and acknowledged in the following article

Mit dem Gesetz zur Änderung des Grundgesetzes vom 28. August 2006, das am 30. Juni 2006 vom Deutschen Bundestag mit Zustimmung des Bundesrates vom 7. Juli 2006 beschlossen wurde, ist unter Anderem die bis dahin in Art. 75 GG geregelte Rahmengesetzgebungskompetenz des Bundes abgeschafft worden.
